Today on the duck chronicles we start out in the western pasture and you can really see the effects of our current regional drought. While North Texas as a whole has had plenty of rain this year we seem to be under some sort of hex, where storms form to our west, move toward us only to fall apart before getting here than reform to our east. We are expecting rain Friday and/or Saturday so moving the ducks to this area was strategic. The hope is they do some pest control and drop some fertility along with knock down some of the seed and dry vegetation in advance of what is promised to be long steady rain. Sadly we have had this promise many times this year, it has yet to be fulfilled. We also take a look at the progress of the baby turkey polts and baby bantam chickens. They are all doing well and beginning to feather out. We end with the dogs and learn that Lucy Lu is a Pitsky (basically a Pit Bull crossed with a Siberian Husky).
