Kashmira- Northwest Folklife Middle Eastern Dance Showcase

 

Kashmira 2017 Northwest Folklife Middle Eastern Dance Showcase a three hour show put together by Mish Mish of Seattle; featuring dances representing Arabic, Persian and Central Asian culture. The showcase was Sunday evening, May 28th This year we pay tribute to five belly dancers who have contributed over the last 30 years to making the Puget Sound area a thriving dance community. They not only performed in nightclubs, taught classes, and sponsored big show, but some of them traveled the country, became nationally known dance artists. Some of these dancers have not performed in public for several years but their names should be familiar: Kashmira, Sabura, Bessmah, Zaphara and Delilah. And we welcome a new face to Folklife: Bella Jovan, a local dancer who has gained fame performing in the US, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East.
