Bromont CCI 2017 - 1-Star Division - Dressage

This is my first CCI (International level long format) event, and I must say that, having seen some incredible tests laid down by some of the riders before me, I was somewhat intimidated. Humbled, even, that I was riding in the same ring as these other riders, Olympians amongst them. That said, I've worked very hard to get my dressage game sharpened -- with excellent coaching Tamsyn Kouwenberg and Tracy Roberts, and then at Bromont itself with some quick sessions with my competition coach Momo Laframboise. This test worked out quite well in my view. 61.73% equals 57.4 penalty points for the event put me at 26th out of 40 starters -- within the top two-thirds of the riders. If I'm able to keep or improve on this position after the Cross Country and Show Jumping phases, I'll be ecstatic. Thanks to Colin Gaffney (who had to drop out of the competition because his horse had a negative reaction to some medication) for videoing this test based on 15 seconds of instruction on the camcorder!
