Russia's top diplomat in US for talks with Trump, Tillerson

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is in Washington for talks with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his first face-to-face contact with President Donald Trump. Issues regarding Ukraine and Syria are on the agenda. Russia, Iran and Turkey agreed to support the "de-escalation zones" inside Syria last week. In the plan, four areas in the conflict-torn country will be under ceasefire beginning this week. Could Lavrov's visit help thaw Russia-US relations?
