Updating this theory yet again, because we got even more evidence from Steven Bomb 6! Lion is a combination of an organic creature and a gem - just like Steven! Connie might've been foreshadowing this when she talked with Steven in the episode Are You My Dad? In Lion 4: Alternate Ending, Lion 2: The Movie, and one of the Steven Universe comic books, Lion was seen with a lizard that had gems along its back. Even though it had crystals on it, it wasn't like a normal gem. It didn't poof when Lion ate it and had a skeleton. Any gem when cut in half, whether they be normal, corrupted, or shattered, would poof instantly. The only exception to this might be with organic-gem hybrids. Gems bodies are made of light, which is why they can retreat back to their gems. But organic bodies aren't. Other cases of organic-gem hybrids are the magic moss and or course Steven. Isn't it funny how Lion is always the one with these lizard-gems. Almost as if he had something in common with them? Lion is one of these organic-gem hybrids. He wasn't born hybrid like Steven. He was made one by Rose Quartz. She gave him Pink Diamond's shards. We know some shards can posses things. He was one of Rose's seven lions. He was the one with the heart shaped nose who's eyes weren't shown on camera. But why Pink Diamond's shards specifically? Well, Lion is pink first of all. Lion's warp is diamond shaped, and partially pink. The sound when he warps features distorted accordions; just like the Diamonds' themes. Lion's mane is similar to Pink's hair. He doesn't like Steven touching his belly - the same place Pink Diamond's gem was. Pink's mural shows crystals growing from underneath her, there are pink crystals growing from underneath the tree in Lion's mane. Lions are a symbol of leadership - the Diamonds are the leaders of HomeWorld. Lion has a powerful voice which he can use as a weapon - just like the Diamonds can do with their corruption song. Plus brings Steven to things of Pink Diamonds a lot: the picture of her palanquin, her moon base, and her ship. Ronaldo possible foreshadowed a crushed up gem coursing through someone's blood in the episode Rocknaldo too.
