U.S. Supreme Court case law clearly states that as long as parents are fit, it should be assumed that parents are acting in the best interest of their children. Even so, Texas judges still overrule fit parents' decisions about who can spend time with their children simply because they disagree with the parents. Placing the Supreme Court ruling into statute will protect families from unjustified interference with legitimate parenting decisions.
