In this video I made two different tongue drums. One has a box made from bird's eye maple and a sound board made from padauk. The other one has a box made from Spanish cedar and a sound board made from cocobolo.
The cedar box is joined with a splined miter joint. I used black walnut for the splines to match the cocobolo. The maple box is joined with a 1/4" box joint and it has continuous grain flowing all the way around the box.
