How to grow watermelons.

Here I am conducting an experiment in the United Kingdom where which I am growing Watermelons both in a polytunnel and outside. I am growing watermelons in containers (pots, buckets) and in the ground. I have used Sugar baby watermelon seeds and am using a growing medium of Vital Earth compost and horse manure. I expect the ones in the polytunnel will do best due to the microclimate. Watermelons are generally a tropical or Mediterranean crop but can be grown in colder climates such as the UK. How to grow watermelons in a cold climate can be a very satisfying thing to do as I did it with success two years ago. Please look at my how to grow tropical plants in the UK playlist. The plants in the tubs I will be growing vertically using a plastic climbing net in order to save space. Growing these plants in a polytunnel or greenhouse under cover in a climate like the UK is more likely to give success than growing them outside. How to grow your own fruit and vegetables is a great thing to do for self sufficiency and an allotment or back garden (backyard) growing area can be great fun. I hope people enjoy the video.
