Today I'll be showing you how to unban from the recent banwave that Nintendo did against 3DS hackers using custom firmware. A lot of people were affected by this and a lot of people also were not affected. I'll be showing you what you should do in both cases.
If you're banned and you complete this video, make sure you complete the step to avoid the ban at the beginning of the video! You can, and likely will, be banned again if you don't do that step. It's important to ensure no additional data about what software you use is sent to Nintendo.
The ban was (most likely) caused by Nintendo receiving information about what titles you opened. For example, if you opened freeShop, they'd see freeShop's title ID and then ban you. Piracy was not the cause, however. Simply having CFW could be enough to get you banned, so it's highly recommended to do the first step to avoid the ban if you did any modding at all.
There is a way to do this with only one 3DS, but it isn't guaranteed to work. You can download the public LocalFriendCodeSeed_B below instead of ripping one from a 2nd console you own. That's not the only option, though. You can get a friend to give you their LocalFriendCodeSeed_B. This will NOT get the other console banned. It won't affect them in any way. Multiple 3DS's can you the same LocalFriendCodeSeed_B without any issues. You just need to make sure that you disable SpotPass sharing or else both consoles will be banned.

A: As long as you trust all of your friends to disable SpotPass sharing, yes. You will still be able to use the 3DS online without a problem.
