I can't tell you enough how epic that weekend was with some many awesome expected and unexpected catches at the Alexandria Amtrak station. On Friday, I caught 3 trains. Two of them were VRE trains, one heading south on track 3 and another one heading north on track 1 (pretty uncommon). Plus, thanks to the Facebook group "Private Varnish Tracker", I did catch P050-30 with PV Moonlight Dome on the rear of the train. This weekend I caught some different PVs, a couple were heading for the N.C. Transportation Museum at Spencer, to be part of the Norfolk & Western #611 excursion consist. On Saturday, I have to say the highlight of that day was a 2-CSX train meet, Q141 heading South on track 1 and Q034 heading North on track 2. I also liked T460 Loaded Coal Train with a trio of GE power. On Sunday, I caught Berlin and Dearing on P051-02. These PVs were on a separate PV trip as these cars were heading back to Huntington, West Virginia. Then there were 2 more PVs on P079-02, with Lake Pepin and Moonlight Dome. This also marked my second CSX spirit locomotive caught on camera, CSX 5500, the Spirit of Cincinnati, leading CSX Train Q130 heading for Portsmouth, Virginia. What I thought was the most unexpected was CSX P930, a lite Amtrak P42DC unit, heading from Lorton, Virginia to Washington, DC. I want to thank the engineer of Amtrak P147 on Saturday and P156 on Sunday giving my friend and I great horn shows. Last but definitely not least, CSX Train Q301-01 had a GMTX EMD MP15AC switcher 3rd of 3 trailing.
