First, I AM SO SORRY THAT IT TOOK THIS LONG TO GET THIS UP!!!!! This episode aired during my schools musical and I had no time to edit (This is also why I'm not wearing any makeup so I'm sorry that I look dead. Everyone in the musical pretty much looks dead all week). Then this past week has been trying to get caught up in school from show week so again no time to edit! Anyway glad i finally got it up! Now to my review:
OKAY! Can i just say how AMAZING the music in this episode was! And I loved what they did with Sasha. As sad as I was that she took the pill, looking back while editing i realized that she really saved all of them from a lot of terrible things. She instantly took away any leverage that Negan had over them. I'm so glad that Dwight is finally on our side! I was wondering how that would play out since Daryl isn't in the comics but I think they've done a great job. I never really thought that carl was going to die but I was REALLY anxious during that whole scene just because you never know. The one thing that I wish they would have done was show rick loving on carl just a little bit. Like at least a hug or something. He was almost killed right in front of him and rick showed no sign of being glad that he was ok. And why wasn't Carl included in that hug with Rick and Michonne at the end?!?! I feel like this season has really pushed Carl and Ricks relationship to the background. Like after Negan brought him back in the first half of season 7, Rick just kinda looked at him. In the comics carl ran to rick in tears saying how sorry he was and how much he loved him. Hopefully season 8 will have a lot more Carl since Chandler is turning 18 soon and he won't have to be held back by child actor laws. Maggie's speech at the end was perfect!! The season started with Glenn and Abraham dying and I feel like this entire season has been centered around how each character deals with it. Abraham's story was wrapped up nicely with Sasha's story and Glenn was beautifully honored by that last monologue. This season was very strong and I think this is the best finally we've ever had! I'd give this episode a 9.5/10 . The only reason its not a 10 is because of those issues with rick and carl that i mentioned earlier. If you've read this far, wow, good for you.
