Kathryn teases Julia, "First kissing scene niya, tapos kinakabahan siya!"
Mara Clara stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are reunited!
The two had a get-together with their Growing Up co-stars (and love team partners) Daniel Padilla and Diego Loyzaga.
Julia and Diego shared this through their Instagram accounts last April 22.
Growing Up director Lino Cayetano, executive producer Marissa Kalaw, and co-star Gerald Madrid were also present at the reunion.
Julia also posted a photo with Kathryn together with Direk Lino.
Diego and Daniel also posed for a photo with Direk Lino.
Their other Growing Up co-stars Maricar Reyes, Kiray Celis, Yen Santos, EJ Jallorina, and Neil Coleta were not present.
From being part of the kiddie gag show Goin' Bulilit to playing younger versions of lead actors in various teleseryes, Kathryn and Julia eventually found their niche in drama. They were tapped to play the iconic title roles in the 2010 remake of Mara Clara.
Kathryn took on the role of Mara, first portrayed by Judy Ann Santos in the original version. Julia, on the other hand, portrayed Clara, played back then by Gladys Reyes.
Because of the teleserye's success, Kathryn and Julia were tapped to topbill the youth-oriented series Growing Up in September 2011, where they were paired with Daniel and Diego, respectively.
ulia recalled how she would open up to Kathryn about her apprehensions during the first few months of the primetime soap.
"After ng nagkatabaho kami sa Growing Up, naging busy, meron pa rin kaming communication.
"Minsan nagsasabi ako sa kanya, grabe dito ako sa work na ganito, e, dati first time ko, Walang Hanggan.
"So first time ko magmature, nagkukuwento ako sa kanya, grabe ang hirap pala ng ganito."
Kathryn then teased Julia, "First kissing scene niya, tapos kinakabahan siya!"
For her part, Kathryn recealled how she adjusted when she parted ways with Julia.
"Hirap kasi imagine mo, magkasama kami almost a year yung Mara Clara, tapos pinaghiwalay kami ng project.
"Parang nahihiya ako sa iba kong kasama tapos magwa-warm up ka na naman.
"[Sabi ko], 'Juls, ang hirap pala dito, na-awkward ako mag-isa.'
"Nakakaproud naman kasi kahit magkaiba, si Julia ang dami na niyang nagawa ngayon and nandoon pa rin yung friendship."
