An honest review of today's movie... Ghost in the Shell!
Ghost in the Shell is the long awaited live action re-imagining of Masamune Shirow's classic 1995 anime. Starring Scarlett Johansson as Mira Killian, also known as Major; a human brain recovered from a terror attack and transplanted into a robotic body. Ghost in the Shell follows her and her team on the hunt for a mysterious cyber terrorist known as Kuze (Michael Pitt). Kuze has been hacking minds to assassinate key scientists of Hanka Robotics, the company that provides humans with seemingly endless options to enhance themselves with cybernetics. It's up to Major and her Section 9 team (Takeshi 'Beat' Kitano, Pilou Asbæk and Chin Han) to hunt him down and learn about Major's past. Also starring Juliette Binoche, Danusia Samal and Peter Ferdinando, Ghost in the Shell (2017) is directed by Rupert Sanders.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: "In the near future, Major is the first of her kind: a human who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world's most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people's minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that her life was stolen instead of saved. Now, she will stop at nothing to recover her past while punishing those who did this to her."
