I thought it was a good idea to have a mini, portable, cheap but trustworthy cnc machine to experiment with! The idea is to take it home, lay it on my desk and run some experiments there. To have a better understanding of what I 'm doing in the bigger one( also homemade!). In other words, this is the one with all the fun! It's gonna be using 3x BYg stepper motors (you can find them online for about 1,5$ each). An arduino UNO along with a cnc shield( 9$ for those), some belts and some pulleys and shafts(8mm) I salvaged from old printers(but you can buy all those and still be under 20$),a little piece of copper pipe, and a piece of plywood. In this video you can see the make and the assembly. I was already 9 minutes in, so i 'll keep the tunning and test run for another vid. Soon... Then we can try it with a homing cycle, a sharpie, a mini spindle or maybe a laser head!I think I'm gonna even try mach 3 on it sometime. Just so many things to do with it... Interested on making one of those?? Get your free plans here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d57pBTYo_kI&t=126s And a list of materials ( I'm also including some links. They are affiliates, which means if you buy there I get a comission and may make a buck or two..No worries if you have another place in mind!) -BYJ steppers https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338242550&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F1-2-5-10-PCS-28BYJ-48-DC-12V-Valve-Gear-Stepper-Motor-4-Phase-Step-Motor%2F192000139737%3Fhash%3Ditem2cb419a1d9%3Am%3Ami7boBqYHZJfeAjIoITfwjA - Arduino + CNC shield + stepper driver boards https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338242550&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FCNC-Shield-V3-3D-Printer-4xA4988-Driver-UNO-R3-For-Arduino-w-USB-Cable-1PC%2F382137600461%3Fhash%3Ditem58f92d09cd%3Ag%3APIUAAOSwwvZZTHxj -Belt (1m /6mm width) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338242550&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F1-2-5-10-50-meters-GT2-Timing-Belt-open-6mm-10mm-width-FOR-3D-Printer-Reprap%2F122843727520%3Fhash%3Ditem1c9a0e86a0%3Am%3AmbyBph3JBLg0iAfYjJdL13w -According pulleys (5mm ID) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338242550&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FGT2-6mm-Timing-Pulley-16-60-Teeth-Aluminum-5-10mm-Bore-Fr-Reprap-3D-printer-CNC%2F132471121572%3Fhash%3Ditem1ed7e4e6a4%3Am%3Am7Fd__A2cyzAq3RFTQBZZUg -Some 12mm thick plywood -Some copper piping (alternatively you can use LMUs https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338242550&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F10pcs-8-mm-LM8UU-Linear-Motion-Bush-Bushing-Ball-Bear-Bearing-LM-Series%2F370982181382%3Fhash%3Ditem566042da06%3Ag%3AhkMAAOxyUrZSzgo1) -8 mm steel shafting (nearest hardware store!)
