The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE for short, sets the industry standard with their certification program. This includes testing in various automotive systems. For each exam that is passed, an ASE Certification is awarded. ASE certified technicians have verified their competence and technical abilities in the automotive service industry - and they have the credentials to prove it! Ask your mechanic to show you their credentials.
