SHTF Stories I Stopped A Home Invasion

 

I am a stay at home mother. It was about one thirty in the afternoon, when I had just came out of the nursery from laying my one year old down for nap. I had been in the room rocking him for about 30 minutes. After I walked out of the nursery, the door bell rang. I walked over to the side window to see who it could be, and to my horror I saw two men, both wearing gloves and dark clothes, on a day that with about 70 degrees outside. Both were holding duffle bags. Obviously I did not answer the door. After a period of about 30 seconds, they then began messing the the door knob and attempting to get in. At this point I ran into my bedroom and got my husbands gun. When I came back into the living room about 5 seconds later, they were still attempting to get in. At this point, preparing for them to come in at any moment I point the gun at the door waiting for it to bust open. The gun was equipped with a laser, and when I point the gun at the door, the laser hit the glass panel. The two men both immediately stopped and took off. I am thankful they had not come 30 minutes earlier when I was in the nursery. I am also thankful for the presence of the laser which I believe stopped the attempted home invasion. Some people say they don't feel safe with guns in the house, I am not one of those people...
