Whenever anyone talked about Red Sea's NoPox, it was always to say how dosing it stripped their tanks of nutrients and ultimately caused trouble with their corals. But I was having a nitrate issue in my 29G cube soft coral reef, and water changes weren't helping. I do not overfeed my fish or corals, I'm extremely careful. I unplug my canister filter while there is any scrap of food visible in the water. I decided to research how NoPox actually worked and once I understood the science of it, I realized it might be the help I needed. So i bought some, and started adding it manually to my tank at 9:00 p.m. each evening. I had to pay very very close attention to what it was doing in my tank while using it, and make adjustments as things changed. While all that was going on, I completed the rest of my drastic change in filtration. So I no longer have any filter floss or sponges in my canister filter, only live rock rubble and Seachem Matrix. Here's what happened....
