For our wedding dance, we wanted something special that was definitely us. As game developers (and avid players), it was only fitting we pay homage to the games we love that brought us together.
The first third of the dance is a traditional foxtrot, so no video game references there. However, once the beat drops we go right into the good stuff.
In order of appearance:
- The End of Us: a gamejam game we made together in 48 hours, marked as the first instance of us falling in love (awww). Playable here: http://the-end-of-us.com/
- Super Smash Bros. Melee: Throwing out Mario's fireball
- Super Mario Bros.: The classic coin block jump
- Super Smash Bros. Melee: Show me your moves, Mr. Falcon.
- New Super Mario Bros.: Celebratory flagpole twirl
- Assassin's Creed: Blending in (note this is footage of Brotherhood, not the original)
- FEZ: Rotating the world for a better view of reality (http://store.steampowered.com/app/224760)
- Spelunky: Kissed by a sloppy damsel & whipping those dang bats (http://store.steampowered.com/app/239350)
- ibb & obb: Going places together & casual victory dance (http://store.steampowered.com/app/95400)
- Shadow of the Colossus: Drawing thy sword's light & drawing bow for battle
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Spin attack & forward lunge
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: Conducting the Song of Passing
- OutRun 2: Drifting for kisses
- Konami Code: A line dance that lets you input the infamous cheat code as if you were standing on a large NES controller. This is the variation where pressing Select allows you to play a game with 2 players. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code)
