Takamine EF740FS TT review

Written By GLB Productions on Wednesday, Oct 12, 2016 | 01:52 PM

A full review of my personal EF740FS TT, owned and played for eight months at time of filming. This magnificent Japanese-made instrument is the successor to the much-lauded TF740FS. That guitar featured a solid cedar top, which has been replaced with solid thermal spruce on this model. The 'FS' in the model number stands for 'fingerstyle' and although this guitar has certain features that are aimed at this style of playing I have found this guitar to be a wonderfully versatile and competent all-rounder. Bookmarks for video: 00:00 Intro 01:14 Guitar specifications 08:15 How does it sound and what difference does the thermal top make? 11:51 Playing samples - microphone 16:12 Pickup and preamp discussion 19:35 Playing samples - plugged in 21:57 Conclusion This is an independent review and was not sponsored nor solicited by the Takamine Guitar company.
