I found some video my dad took of the old Somerset, Indiana. The Mississinewa Dam was built in 1967, which flooded this small rural community, forcing the residents to leave. As I recall from my childhood, this footage was shot knowing the town was to be flooded, and to capture it before then. And at the time of the filming, it looks like most residents had already moved out. So... I assume this was shot in 1966 or 67. (I later learned this much have been shot before the end of 1965, because there is a house in the video which was moved in 1965). If you recognize any of the landmarks, please incude the time in this video where it occurred, and leave a comment to identify it. Here is a nice summary I found about old Somerset. http://www.ingenweb.org/inwabash/town-histories/somerset-history.txt Here is an additional link which shows some fun information about Old Somerset: http://www.ingenweb.org/inwabash/somerset.html Music: "Back Home Again in Indiana" performed by the Over the Hill Gang.
