Score and rank results for the Beast arenas, Anthropoid and Simian. From these arenas I collect and awaken Beast, the furry blue intellectual and a founding member of the X-Men. Hank McCoy aka Beast offers two combat modes: Freestyle and Acrobatic. Beast starts in Freestyle mode if his health is above 50%, or in Acrobatic mode if his health is below 50%. Beast's first Special sets his fighting mode to Freestyle, and his second Special sets it to Acrobatic. In Freestyle combat, Beast's Critical Hits have a chance to inflict Bleed. In Acrobatic combat, Beast has a chance to reduce Critical Hit Damage received, and opponent Power Gain is reduced from Beast's hits. Using Acrobatic mode may be the better strategy when fighting opponents with Willpower. Beast himself is bleed resistant, reducing its damage and duration. Both of Beast's Special Attacks have a chance to Stun. Beast's third Special deals more damage the higher his combo count. What I discovered about Beast that isn't currently described on his character screen is that he is able to Break Blocks using Basic Attacks while in Acrobatic combat. I demonstrate this in the duel in the video. Beast's signature ability, Chain Combo, rewards certain Combos depending on the combat mode he is in. When in Freestyle combat, a medium-light-light-light-medium 5-hit combo inflicts Direct damage per hit and increases Crit Rate if the combo is completed successfully. When in Acrobatic combat, following up a Block or Parry with a medium-light-light-medium 4-hit combo Regenerates health with each hit and reduces opponent Power Gain by a short duration if the combo is completed successfully. Skip to 2:14 for Beast's champion info screen or to 3:36 for a marathon duel between Beast and the Unstoppable Juggernaut!
