The Jet Squelcher is the longest-range automatic weapon. With its Splash Wall, it truly is one of the better defensive loadouts. I mainly took up a strategic, defensive position on each of the two maps and wasn't too mobile or fancy. However, once when I was matched with three snipers as teammates, I tried being more mobile and aggressive, to little success.
