Elizabeth April: Difference between Old Soul & Young Soul
My whole life I have been told that I was an old soul, or a flower child…. I’m sure many of you reading this have had similar experiences. But what does it really mean to be an old soul or a young soul?
An older soul is typically less attached to the people, the situations and the material objects on this planet. If you can accept bad news without flinching it may not mean that you are simply un-empathetic, but understand that everything happens for a reason. This is because attachment, grief and loss are some of the lessons learned by more experienced souls. Older souls tend to understand the bigger picture of life but are still able to appreciate the little things. Old souls can usually be quite philosophical and seem “wise beyond their years”. If you are the type of person who understands that you create your own life and that everything happens for a reason, then you are most likely an old soul.
Younger souls seem to have an air of blissful ignorance around them. Reacting to many of life's situations and predicaments, either with a magnitude of excitement or a feeling of fear and uncertainty. Young souls seem to have many attachments in this world, since they are unaware of what exists beyond, they get caught up in addictions or attachments. Younger souls can sometimes feel lost within themselves, not know who they are or what they want out of life. They spend most of their life trying to fill that void with either relationships, money or any other distraction they can find. This usually leads to a lot of resentment and blame put onto external entities.
