An interpretation of the TEDxChiangMai 2016 theme “Dare to …”, Asa’s performance is about waking up and stepping out of one’s comfort zone, daring to express new movements and emotions, playing with balance & enjoying the discoveries in moments, and overcoming fear... www.tedxchiangmai.com Asa is an aerial contortionist. She was born in a small town in Maine, US, but grew up in Kyoto, Japan, which she considers the heart’s home. At the age of 16, she joined Cirque de Soleil. Having honed her craft with Cirque de Soleil, Asia now a freelance artist developing and performing both aerial and floor acts for a number of international shows. She also merges aerial work with fluid dance movement and incorporates yogic and acrobatic hand balancing on the floor. She also works as a model and does promotional events and TV work.
