The Miyabi Kaizen is, interestingly enough, Miyabi’s “entry-level” knife line. However, when you compare it to other knives, it is most definitely “top-tier.” The knives are completely and totally made by hand using VG10 steel clad with 32 layers on either side, and are then hand-sharpened to an insane 9 degree cutting angle. The handles are made of micarta and have a gorgeous mosaic pin in the center. Global is one of the original modern "Japanese" style knives that forced the European companies to get their act together. It is immediately recognizable by its all metal construction and black dimples along the handle. In this video, compare and contrast the Miyabi Kaizen Knife to the Global Knife and give my thoughts.
