This isn't a dorm room, but it is a place for my daughter's Ever After High dolls to hang out. It even contains some Ever After High furniture from the playset, "Beanstalk Bakery & Cafe Playset." If I am going to make an Ever After High doll series or doll videos - as many of you have been asking me to do - then I should at least give them a place to hang out and get together, right?
So that's the idea behind this latest Ever After High craft. Here are the steps I took to make this Fairytale Cafe:
- I used a large open cube from Hayneedle.com. It measures 30 inches wide by 15 inches high by 15 inches deep.
- I chose a flooring...a duck tape that resembles hardwood floors, and I laid it down in strips.
- I chose some wallpaper. Since it's a Fairytale Cafe, I thought it would be great to use some papers from the "Once Upon A Time" scrapbook paper collection. I think I found this one at Hobby Lobby once upon a time.
- I then chose some trims..."Olive Leaves" by Papersource, and a champagne-colored ribbon from Papersource. I lined the tops and bottoms with those trims.
- I added in all the furniture from my Ever After High Beanstalk Bakery and Cafe playset. But it wasn't enough. I also added in a bunch of miscellaneous pink furniture I had bought off of Ebay while looking for the perfect stuff for CA Cupid's dorm room.
- I added windows and curtains. Windows are dollhouse miniature frames by Mayberry Street, and curtains are from a stack of fat quarters I once purchased at Joann Fabrics. They are a beautiful vine-colored green - just perfect for a place called, "Beanstalk Bakery."
- For more faux food, I added some of the "Strawberry House" miniatures by Re:Ment - specifically, pieces of the Fondue Set and the Strawberry Vanity and bedroom.
And that was it, really! Hope you all liked this latest Ever After High craft from me...and I look forward to creating all kinds of fun doll scenes in this new hangout!
