Blackhead removal on the back.
This video shows a few ‘best way to remove blackheads, whiteheads and pop cysts’ techniques. Blackheads, whiteheads, pus, zits, pimples, and cysts are very common in patients with acne. Blackheads and whiteheads can occur on the face, neck, back, chest and even on the arms and legs of acne patients. This video demonstrates the techniques dermatologists like Dr Davin Lim, Dr Sandra Lee and Dr Vikram use.
On the back, firm pressure is all you need with the comedone extractor and within seconds you will be removing, extracting and curing all your blackheads in no time- like an expert! Trust me – its one of those addictive things- start at one blackhead and cyst, and you cannot put that comedo extractor down. The art is to match the extractor with the location of the blackhead. Some blackheads on the nose need a variety of extractors to remove all the sebum, whilst ear blackheads require finer instruments. Ideally I ask my patients to soak their back or face with a warm towel to soften the skin and blackheads before removal. Makes the process easier. Extracting an popping cysts should be done the same way.
Once treated, I usually get patients to apply either Tretinoin cream and or AHA to help reduce recurrence.
I like to use a comedomal extractor- this special tool can be surgical grade (super expensive), but home comedone extractors can be purchased for only $5-10 on ebay.
