The 200 meter endurance workout in this video is not necessarily for beginners. It is for everyone. If you are an 800 meter runner trying to break 2 minutes you should do this workout and attempt to run 29 seconds for each 200. If you can do that you are in good shape to run a 1: 59 800m dash.
