I just wanted to share my story about being mixed and maybe some of you can relate :) Enjoy!

***I haven't answered or addressed any comments here because I believe in the expressing and exchanging of ideas. I want this to be an open forum to get the discussion of race started. BUT many have misconstrued what I made this video to say.. the point was to simply share my experiences to see if others related. This video was to connect with other light skin black people who have experience this type of back and forth. This gray area where you're too black for the white people and too white for the black people. I've always defended my blackness when BLACK people said I was white because of my skin, hair and eye color. I hated that they said I was less black because of these things that I couldn't change. I never thought of myself as less black or wanted to be white because of my physical appearances but OTHER black people told me I was less black and treated me differently. Then I found out I'm almost half white and everything they had been saying about me was true. Not that I'm less black but that I had more white in me than I knew. The point isn't that I'm confused about who I am or my blackness. I know I'm black. I know society views me as black. The point is how do I go about accepting my ENTIRE heritage when I've fought my entire life against part of it. It's about how do I accept my new found whiteness. Not that I'm ashamed of my blackness..... I know racism. I've experienced it. I know what it means to be black and I'm 100% proud of who I am..
