Abalone Diving 2015 - Mendocino County, California Red Abalone are large mollusks or sea snails. They can be found up and down the California & Oregon Coast. To find big abalone, one must explore cold, dark, murky waters. With the ever present danger of encountering a Great White Shark. This is a video I took while Abalone Diving in Mendocino County, on 04/26/2015 with a friend. Conditions weren't perfect, but we got some decent Abalone, and had a blast getting up there and in the water. Abalone Diving in California can only be done by free diving, or breath old diving. There is no scuba equipment allowed by law. That said. I'm extremely out of shape, so my down time is laughable. But still, I think I got some killer video of this Abalone Dive.
