How to spot a narcissist and know the signs you're dealing with a narcissist include intimidating language designed to undermine your trust in yourself. Entitlement is a huge red flag of narcissism. Signs you're dealing with a narcissist include a deficit in empathy and the inability to take accountability even for the slightest wrongdoing. Gaslighting, projection, spinning stories, crazymaking communication, and lying are ways a narcissist speaks to you. Phrases narcissists use are designed to make you feel like you're the crazy one.

To spot the signs of narcissism you must be objective about your narcissistic relationship. Dr. Ramani says, "it is like looking into a mirror and not seeing anything reflecting back to you."
Narcissists do not regulate emotions in a healthy way. They blame others for their emotional outbursts and are not loyal. They are mean spirited people who enjoy denying your reality. A narcissist will continually suggest that your reality cannot be true. In time, you will wonder if you are crazy and you may even feel the need to record your conversations because you question yourself after speaking to a narcissist who uses crazymaking communication to manipulate you.
