Topdressing

 

Topdressing is a big part of our greens maintenance program, and every year we try to get more efficient and improve our techniques to minimize disruption to our golfing members. Our equipment technician, Tony Henderson, designed a way to put it on the back of a sand rake that could lift up and down. Now we can have one person drag in the sand in straight lines on and back off the green and not take a chance of damaging the green (like the golf carts going in circles have done due to not being able to lift the mat up once it was set to drag). Not only is this much more efficient, but it has some down pressure on the mat so that only one pass is necessary to completely brush in the sand and make it invisible.
