Letter from the Front. Oil on canvas, 225 × 155 cm, 88½ × 61 inches. Painted in 1951. Alexander Ivanovich Laktionov (1910-1972) – full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, winner of the USSR State Prize, Laureate of the Lenin Prize. Was awarded the Order of Lenin.
