Capital Radio Jingles - 1970s

 

Apologies for a complete dog's breakfast of eras and styles in this mega long collection of various Capital Radio jingles from the station launch in 1973 - many of which were used throughout the rest of the '70s. Like all local stations at this time, Capital broadcast on FM/VHF (95.8) and AM/Medium Wave (194m/1548kHz). Despite the obvious advantage of FM sound quality, most people were still listening on medium wave in the mid '70s - especially in the car - and so it was the use of "194" that dominated the jingles.
