Here is part 2 of my update about the Mount Kelud eruption here on Java. Mount Kelud erupted last night at 10:50 PM. Thousands of people on slopes Kelud fled to the evacuation site . There are about 200,000 people living in 36 villages within a radius of 10 km from the volcano. Some areas in the region have been hit with raining gravel.
Here in Yogyakarta, about 170 miles to the west of the Mt. Kelud, the area is covered with fine volcanic ash about 1cm deep. When cars and motorcycles pass by the ash billows up in large clouds. Many places are closed including my Language school
Ini adalah update ke2 dari saya tentang letusan Gunung Kelud di Jawa. Gunung Kelud meletus tadi malam pukul 10:50 WIB. Ribuan orang di lereng Kelud melarikan diri ke tempat evakuasi. Ada sekitar 200.000 orang yang tinggal di 36 desa dalam radius 10 km dari gunung berapi. Beberapa daerah di wilayah tersebut sudah terkena hujan kerikil.
Di sini, di Yogyakarta, sekitar 270 Kilometer di sebelah barat dari Mt. Kelud, area ditutupi dengan abu vulkanik halus sekitar 1cm mendalam. Banyak tempat ditutup termasuk sekolah bahasa saya.
