"Ms. Jackson was considered the Queen of Gospel and a civil rights activist, a friend and inspiration to Martin Luther King, Jr., and she often appeared with him. At the March on Washington in 1963, she encouraged King to "tell them about the dream", and his now famous "I Have a Dream" speech ensued. Jackson said she sang God's music because "it makes me feel free" and "it gives me hope. With the blues, when you finish, you still have the blues." - Retrieved from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahalia_Jackson Choreographer: Annie Boyer, Music: Mahalia Jackson, Dancers: 3rd Period Intermediate
