A short video highlighting "Kitchen Rock," a rock outcrop with a small cave located along the Kitchen Rock loop trail at Bark Camp Recreation Area. The entire loop is only about 0.5 miles long, and both trail heads can be found at the day use parking area at Bark Camp Lake. The trail is a moderate but short climb from the parking area up to Kitchen Rock, well worth the small effort to go check it out. It's also a pleasant hike taking you through thick stands of rhodedendron and numerous other rock outcrops. The trail is all under forest canopy so there are no views of the lake, except in winter when you can kind of see through the trees. Sadly, there is some graffiti inside the cave, and as is all too common in this part of the Virginia, I also found some trash left behind by other visitors, though not as much as other sites I visited. All in all, a unique place...
