Should children start education earlier? Dr. Gordon Neufeld points to three signs of developmental readiness that are needed before children can benefit from school. 1) Can a child hold on to you when apart? Or do they replace you? By age five, there should be a deep emotional connection 2) Can the child hold on to him/herself when interacting with peers? Or do they come home with other kids' favourite colour, taste and clothes? 3) Is the child ready to learn from a teacher they're not attached to?
