The West African state of The Gambia has announced it's withdrawing from the Commonwealth -- apparently without giving any notice of its intentions. State television branded it a "neo-colonial institution" - a reference to the organisation's roots in the British Empire. World's Newsroom presenter Anne-Marie Tomchak speaks to Esau Williams (BBC World Service) and Zenaida Machado (BBC Africa) about the development.
