První červnový den patřil mladým hasičům, kde na místním sportovním hřišti SOU, probíhala soutěž „O pohár starosty sboru dobrovolných hasičů Hranice". Do Hranic tak přijelo celkem 25 družstev z okolních vesnic a měst. 15 mužských, 9 ženských týmů a 1 tým z Babic nad 35 let. Těsně před zahájením soutěže a ještě během nástupu mírně poprchávalo, ale pak se počasí umoudřilo a soutěž proběhla bez dešťových kapek. Jen nízká teplota připomínala spíše podzim.
