Foal rescue Penclawdd

After spending at least an hour in the ditch, the foal was starting to weaken and with the tide incoming this could have proved to be fatal. Fortunately thanks to a local guiding the foal to an area where the ditch sides were not so steep, we were then able to gently encourage the foal out to it's mother who quickly led it away. Shortly after that, once back with the herd the foal had a good drink of milk to help it recover. This area is especially hazardous due to it being a tidal estuary and work is ongoing to improve the welfare of the animals during certain times when they are most at risk.
