London's DJ Kayper is a major force on the mainstream, dance & urban music scenes worldwide. Hailed as one of the finest DJs to pioneer new music today, she has hosted 'The DJ Kayper Show' on The BBC Asian Network since 2006. She travels the globe to DJ at some of the most exclusive celebrity events, from the Cannes Film Festival, the Flaunt Magazine Party at Coachella, Microsoft Bing Lounge at Sundance, the SXSW in Austin, to industry events in LA and Mumbai. There's no wonder why DJ Jazzy Jeff hails her as "the best female DJ I've ever heard", and DJ Pioneer refers to her as "one of the dopest DJ I've seen". If you've never heard her DJ live, you're missing a real treat because as petite as she is in person, she's larger than life as a performer. On her recent trip to Toronto when I invited her to perform at ANOKHI's 9th Anniversary event (February 2012), I got the opportunity to sit down with her before we left for the event (which is why you'll see me here all glammed up for the night), and we chatted about her rise from obscurity to super stardom.
