Each year Juilliard Dance, led by Artistic Director Lawrence Rhodes, presents world-premiere choreography created for the four classes that comprise the division.
This year, Queens, N.Y.-native Camille A. Brown worked with Juilliard's first-year dancers. The artistic director of her own company, Brown also choreographed the students in the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's training program last season.

Emery LeCrone, who choreographed on the second-year dancers, was recently honored with an inaugural New York City Center fellowship for choreographic research.

Choreographer Susan Shields, who worked with the third-year dancers, is a principal dancer from the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company and a professor at George Mason University.

Czech choreographer Jarek Cemerek, who worked with the fourth-year dancers, was awarded Dance Piece of the Year and Dancer of the Year by Czech Dance Platform in 2011. That same year, he premiered Void, a choreography for the male dance company Balletboyz, at London's Sadler's Wells Theater.
