Nebraska Zephyr's Late Run Through Mendota - 9/22/12

The Nebraska Zephyr slows as it reaches the S-curve in Mendota. It's running more than 90 minutes late, supposedly for "setting fires" along the line. Just before coming into the S-curve, it was flying at 83mph. The last time the Zephyr rode these rails in revenue service, this was the junction of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, the Illinois Central, and the Milwaukee Road railroads. Today, only CB&Q successor BNSF remains here.
