I almost laughed at the irony of all this. Chantelle told me that this is what they would say, and here they are, proving her right.
"Okay." I sighed.
"Wait_What?" He looked at me confused.
"You can come." I smiled.
"Really?" He grinned.
I figured since Liam was coming along, I might as well have someone there to be on my side.
"Yeah. We're leaving tonight though."
"That soon?" He questioned. "You sure you don't want to sleep on it?"
"Nope. Oh, and Liam is coming too." I whispered the last part, hoping he wouldn't catch it.
"What?"
"Uh, Liam, he's uh_"
"Seriously? So that's why it was so easy to let me come?" He shook his head.
I prayed quickly that he wouldn't hate me.
"I'm not sure if this makes you feel any better, but I didn't want either of you to come. It's going to ruin your summer."
"Why did you talk to him first?"
"Because I was cleaning his room and he walked in." I sighed.
"Do you even know where to start?"
"No. I was going to go to the library." I rolled my eyes.
"And search for what exactly?"
"Record of my mother. I lived in Doncaster. That's were I'm going to start." I sighed, taking my bag off his bed.
"Alright. How long do I have?"
"For what?"
"To be ready. Liam isn't scaring me off babe." He smiled.
I groaned as I dragged my bag out of my room.
"An hour or so!" I yelled down the hall.
I continued to drag before the weight decinigrated. I looked up and saw Liam carrying the bag.
"Lou is coming too?"
"Like you said, if he begged, I would let him."
"He obviously didn't have to beg as much as me..."
"Jealous are we?" I mocked
"Jealous are we?" He repeated using my voice.
"Are you being mean Mr. Payne?"
"Are you being mean Mr. Payne?" He repeated again.
"You are extrememly annoying."
"You are extrememly annoying."
"Stop it."
"Stop it."
I glared at him as he struggled to keep a straight face. Once we reached the bottom of the stairs, I stuck my foot out and he fell on his face. A laugh escaped my mouth as he glared up at me.
Before I could jump out of the way, I kicked the back of my knees and I fell on top of him. My knee landed on his crotch and he let out a large groan.
"Someone's plan back fired!" I laughed, smacking him in his chest.
He grabbed my hands and rolled me over to where I was below him. He held both my hands above my head in one hand and used the other to tickle my sides.
"Liam! No!" He didn't stop so I took the next measure.
I kneed him again in the balls. He still didn't stop. By this time, my sides were killing me, so I decided it was totally worth it to spit on him. He immediately stopped what he was doing and glared at me.
"Did you really just spit on me?" He asked in disbelief.
"You wouldn't stop..." I whimpered.
"So you spit on me?" He laughed.
"Yes!"
I pushed him off me as I saw Ms. Payne round the corner. I looked at Liam once I was up. He smiled up at me but didn't speak a word.
"Um_ Ms. Payne?"
"Yes sweetie?"
"Liam needs a word." I heard him cuss under his breath.
"Liam?" She looked his way.
"Uh, yeah. So, I'm leaving and won't be back for a while." He scratched his head.
"You're going with her?" She smiled.
"Huh?"
"With Sarah? Lou already told me he was going. I kinda figured seeing the suitcase you were going too."
"So, you're okay with that?" He raised his eyebrows.
"As long as you two promise to come back in one piece, it's perfectly fine."
"But we'll be gone..."
"Just you and Lou. Besides, I can take of myself. I'm not old yet!" She scolded.
I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from smiling. She was the greatest mom on Earth.
Liam rose up and gave his mom a hug before returning upstairs. She didn't move though. Instead, she turned to me and gave me a warm smile. She opened her arms, signalling for a hug.
"I know you don't believe it, but if you ask him to do anything for you, he'll do it. Just keep that in mind okay? Don't be afraid to ask. He might not admit it, but he loves you. You're about to find this out during this trip. Even if he doesn't say it, he loves you more than anything else. You should've seen him when you disappeared last night. I've never seen him act like that since the day you two stopped hanging out."
I connected the two things together. It was a long shot, but it was what my mind pulled together. He's always worried when he thinks the reason I'm upset is because of him. If we're fighting because of me, fuck it. If we're fighting because he was being a jerk, he'd rather die than have me mad at him.
"Please do me a favor? I know you and Louis have been getting close, but don't forget Liam. I know he's my son and I'm supposed to say these things, but he needs you. He really does. Don't move on just yet. Let him open up again. Please? I miss the way you two used to be."
She whispered into my ear before backing away. She rubbed my arms with her hands before stepping around my bag and heading towards the living area. This trip just got extememly stressful.
