How to make Lord Kelvin's Thunderstorm -- Electrostatic Battery

It's easy to make a battery that generates about 20,000 volts of electricity from common items and a source of dripping water. Called Lord Kelvin's Thunderstorm after its inventor, the battery never ceases to amaze people that water drops can cause sparks to jump more than 5 mm. Courtesy of Phil Earnhardt, here are two links to Prof. Lewin lectures that get right to the scientific explanation of the phenomena: http://youtu.be/RQX8I9ZWtPQ?t=44m (introduction of the device) http://youtu.be/q_v2NpgEpws?t=27m24s (explanation of the device)
