Date taken: March 23, 2012 Time taken: 06:15 a.m. Camera used: SONY Camcorder DCR SX45E My 350th upload!! Got the privilege of capturing this beautiful parallel blast at this wonderful location. 13017 Howrah (HWH)- Azimganj (AZ) GANADEVTA Express headed by Bajrangbali liveried HWH WDM- 3A (no.??) and 12019 Howrah (HWH)- Ranchi (RNC) SHATABDI Express headed by dual-tone honking 22736 HWH shed (ex. GZB) WAP-4 makes a parallel blast through Bally (BLY) station enroute. Both the trains depart HWH at exactly the same time, i.e. 06:05 and follows the same route till this station, namely Bally. After that, GANDEVTA takes the HB Main Line, whereas the SHATABDI takes the HB Chord Line. Generally Shatabdi reaches this station before Ganadevta, but due to TSR on the Chord Lines at Belur station, Ganadevta managed to catch up with Shatabdi. From this video, it is clearly visible how the HB Main Line section heads straight, whereas the HB Chord Lines takes a very sharp turn. The bridge which is visible in the video is the road-cum-rail bridge, and the railway lines are the ones coming from Sealdah (SDAH). The lines comes down the gradient, and meet the Chord lines coming from Howrah at Dankuni. Whereas the Main Lines coming from Sealdah meet the Main Lines coming from Howrah at Bandel Junction. Nywz, Howrah- Ranchi SHATABDI Express uses the Howrah- Burdwan (via Chord)- Durgapur- Asansol- Dhanbad- Chandrapura- Bokaro Steel City- Muri- Ranchi route. Howrah- Azimganj GANADEVTA Express uses the Howrah- Burdwan (via Main)- Bolpur Shantiniketan- Sainthia- Rampurhat- Nalhati- Azimganj route instead of the shorter Howrah- Bandel- Nabadwip Dham- Katwa- Azimganj route. To catch this action, I had to start from my house at 04:45 a.m., and take the 05:55 Howrah- Tarakeshwar EMU from Howrah. On this railfanning trip, giving me company were railfans Rohit Basu (who is partially visible in the video), Sayantan Banerjee and Anal Ghosh. ++ Here is my playlist of trains taken from top-view: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4621D0C50272551A&feature=plcp ++ Here is my playlist of numerous parallel actions: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL21CDDC5910201486&feature=view_all ++ Playlist of various SHATABDI Express trains: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyOcbsGHEweb2GVz__6XEdmAZEZURrhUw
