Want to find free satellite imagery? Here's where to find large area, low resolution imagery (if you need hi res, see module 5). Go to the USGS webisite of GLOVIS and get your imagery. Their interface is a bit confusing, but we'll walk you thru it! You start by going to glovis.usgs.gov and then using the US map to click on the general area within 'tactical nuclear range' of your target area. Next, turn on 'admin boundries' to see outlines of states, followed by 'cities'. By now you should have a good idea of where you are. Choose the 'scene' or coverage of the area, then scroll thru other scenes of the same area. One of them will be superior to others.
