We often lose money in the grand scheme of things because we won't sell out our editorial just to make a quick buck. That said, we highly recommend Nuance Communications Dragon dictate for Mac, and even though it takes a bit of getting used to, requires an environment review can speak your computer and not bother other people, and demands that you learn and remember commands and the proper way to speak to your computer, the benefits can be tremendous, and the time savings once you have mastered dictating to your Mac are well worth the cost of entry.

The software itself comes bundled with a Plantronics single, over the year headset and microphone, and although quality and comfort wise it's nothing to write home about, it does get the job done quite well and really is all you need in order to make Dragon Dictate work well right out of the box. The software comes onto disks, what is the installation CD, and the other is the speech libraries. I have gotten in the habit of just burning disc images directly to my drives and putting the original disks away in a safe place. If you have a hard drive space, I recommend you do the same.
