LCD, Plasma and DLP projection televisions offer dynamic high resolution viewing that far exceeds what was available just a few years ago. However, if the viewing surface is not properly cleaned the visual enhancements are degraded and can be permanently damaged. There are two main issues that make cleaning modern televisions a challenge. First LCD, Plasma and DLP screens are not made of the same material as old cathode ray tubes. The new surfaces are made of plastics and composites. Some of these new surfaces are more easily damaged than others but all have cleaning issues. Damage can come from ingredients such as ammonia, alcohol or silicone that are found in many spray cleaners. These ingredients, and others, can attack and dull the plastic over time and make pre-existing scratches more evident. Each of these problems leads to greatly reduced clarity over time. Secondly, most spray cleaners will drip and run down the screen when sprayed and possibly enter the bezel surrounding the screen. This can cause damage to switching and wiring. It is easy to maintain a brilliant viewing surface on all TV screens by using eScreen.
